Assistant Principals' Report

Night of Excellence

Congratulations to all the students who received awards at the Greensborough College ‘Night of Excellence’.

The ‘Night of Excellence’ is the school’s opportunity to recognise those who have contributed to the school community, achieved academic excellence in their studies and those who have worked hard in their studies.  The night also acknowledged those who have been awarded scholarships and the school captains for 2024 were introduced.

Over 100 awards were given out on the warm and humid night.  Two students, Poppy McConchie and Olivia Hickey performed two songs that added to the excellence of the evening.

The school would especially like to thank Colin Brookes, our local member, in presenting several awards on the night.  We would also like to thank Greensborough Rotary for presenting and sponsoring the George Upton Citizenship Award and for Insight, North of the Yarra, DNA Catering, CAVE and Watsonia RSL for providing scholarships.

The night could not have happened without the students and their contributions during the year, the staff who organised the event and presented and finally parents, family and friend who come to support those received awards.

Early Commencement and Reports

We are proud of our Year 10 and 11 students who have commenced their studies as Year 11 and 12 students for next year. The Early Commencement Program was highly productive and students engaged in their work right through to the last day.

Our Years 7-9 students have finished their final assessments and reports were published on COMPASS on Friday 15th of December. You should have received a COMPASS message when they are able to be viewed and downloaded.

A Big Thank You

My time as Acting Assistant Principal is coming to an end.  I have been in the role for the last 3 terms and will be finishing up at the end of the year.  I have learnt so much.  I would like to thank the students, my colleagues, the office staff, the leadership team, parents, and the wider school community for their support and help during the year.  You have all made a difficult job that much easier.

Thank you.

Have an excellent Christmas and a prosperous New Year

Gus McLean

Acting Assistant Principal
