English in 2024
The beginning of the 2024 academic year in English has been nothing short of wonderful. Our students have returned with renewed energy, eagerly immersing themselves in our new units of study.
I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to our Year 7 students, who have joined our rigorous English program. Getting to know each of you has been a pleasure, and we are thrilled to embark on this journey together. Your enthusiasm and interest in the content are truly inspiring, and we look forward to working alongside you.
It has been truly remarkable to witness the love of reading among many of our Year 7 students. Their genuine passion for literature is evident at the beginning of each class, where they consistently display a strong commitment to reading.
In our Year 7 unit focused on Exploring Ideas through Narrative Writing, students have actively participated in a diverse array of learning experiences. Through a combination of explicit teaching activities, collaborative endeavours, and workshop rotations, they have delved deep into the narrative arc, and unravelling the development, structure, and language embedded within each text.
Here, we share some insightful reflections from our students, capturing their impressions and experiences during these initial weeks in the realm of English.
