From the Director of Junior School

Brigid Knight

Dear Families,

We trust you have all had a restful and enjoyable Christmas break. Thank you for preparing your child so well for the commencement of the 2024 school year. It was wonderful to greet so many eager faces willing to take on the challenges and opportunities that await. Junior School families will have received communication from their child’s class teacher with important class-based routines, however, please find below some important information and dates for Term 1 pertinent to all families.

  • Students should not be left unaccompanied on the school grounds prior to 8.20am when teachers go on duty. Before school care is available if supervision is required prior to this time.
  • Students can be picked up from the line up area or Harrington St between 3.00pm and 3.20pm. After this time all students will be taken to the Student Services Office to await collection.
  • Please be safety aware when dropping off and collecting your child from school.
  • If you or a family member is wanting to volunteer for classroom help or excursion supervision, please ensure you have a current Working with Vulnerable People card.
  • Until our Connect parent portal is launched, we have set up Class Dojo for your convenience. Teachers are also contactable via email. Please understand that there may be as much as a 48-hour turn around for communication. If the matter is urgent, please contact the Business Office or email bknight@smc.tas.edu.au
