Principal's Message:
Merry Christmas and
Happy 2024
Dear Parents, Friends and Families of St Mel’s
It’s been an honour to have been principal at St Mel’s for the past 6 years. In that time many people have left their mark creating our school. At the heart and soul of everything, it’s our community and the kids that distinguish St Mel’s from any other school I have been involved in.
The sense of ‘community’ that exists at St Mel’s draws inspiration and adds a new dimension to the vocation of teaching. It has been a privilege to get to know parents and families on a personal level and who many of you I will now call lifelong friends.
It’s been a privilege to see so many of our children grow, learn and to become unique within ‘themselves’ and to see our grade sixes graduate as leaders and ready to take the next step in their lives and education is inspiring.
Throughout 2023, our students have grown taller and built their learning muscles developing new understandings in music, visual arts, Japanese, physical health, dance, play, literacy, numeracy and socially, just to name a few. Celebrate these with joy and pride.
We have come to the end of another school year and we are ready to celebrate the successes that have been achieved by our children.
As the holiday season approaches, we rejoice in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and celebrate His coming with much excitement. In this Christmas season enjoy the fine food, the company of family and friends and think about how Jesus Christ has influenced you. How are you the face of Christ for your family, friends, and the wider community?
