Musica Viva Performance:  Yesterday all students attended a wonderful performance by "Moon Radio Hour" a touring musical group who work with 'Musica Viva' to bring music to students across the country.  It was a fantastic interactive performance, including lots of creativity and fun, with students engaging with the performers and thoroughly enjoying the music and presentation.  "Musica Viva" has been bringing music to students across Australia for over 40 years.  With chamber music at their artistic core, Musica Viva Australia aims to create memorable musical experiences for audiences of all ages and provides opportunities for musicians to bring their music to others through concerts and education programs.  Without an

understanding of this particular type of music though, students would not truly appreciate the performance, therefore educational packages are designed and sent to schools in advance so these can be taught in the music classes.  Yesterday, we were finally are able to work with the live performers.  Our students were well versed with the style of performance and able to gain a great deal from the interaction with this musical group.  A huge 'thank you' to Mrs Niven for organising and coordinating the performers visit yesterday.  We all thoroughly enjoyed their time with us!

Year 3 Plays:  Mrs Niven has been very busy, as apart from preparing students for the Musica Viva performance, she has also been organising Year 3 for their School Plays this Friday, 20th September. These plays will be performed in the Infants Music Room in our Byng St building.  The 3B play is at 10am, 3Y at 11.30am and 3M will be 12.30pm. Parents, carers, families and friends are very welcome to join us for these wonderful plays!

Winter Sports:  Over the past term, our Year 3-6 students have headed off to 'Winter Sports' each Thursday or Friday.  With our weather in Orange being so unpredictable, we have identified sports that we can offer the students which are all indoor activities and align with our PD, Health, PE curriculum outcomes.   The students look forward to this experience every year!  A very big 'thank you' to our wonderful Office ladies who coordinate bookings, buses and rosters each year to allow this to happen. Next week will be our last rotation of Winter Sport for this year.

Work Experience Students:  This week we are delighted to welcome back to McAuley one of our ex-students for Work Experience. Heath Vaughan is with us as he looks at which career path he would like to take.  Next week we will also be hosting another of our ex-students for Work Experience.  Hayley Hunter will join us for the final week of term, and we will put her talents to use with all our McAuley Day celebrations!

Heath was popular with the Kinders!
