Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the last newsletter for Term 3 from the Leadership Team. I hope the Term has gone well for you all. I feel that it has absolutely flown by.
Trivia Night
Thank you to the Year 6 PACE champions for a great night of trivia and community spirit. It was FUN!!!
PACE Wellbeing Information Meeting
Many thanks to Mrs Shannon Cain and Mrs Lucinda Connor who shared information about what is offered here at Catherine McAuley in the area of Wellbeing. This was an excellent, comprehensive presentation. I understand that many people were not able to log onto the meeting to hear what our Wellbeing Coordinator and Officer had to say so a recording of the meeting is available on the WAM page of this newsletter.
I would like to thank all members of the community who have been involved in the PACE activities. I feel it has given extra energy to the school to have the parents and community so involved. The community events to date have been a great success, as have the fundraising activities. I would like to thank the PACE executive who have coordinated these activities and allocated the funds raise for school and grounds improvement. Funds have been allocated to the garden, the playground and to support the swimming initiative, all great causes that will benefit the students.
Term Dates
A gentle reminder that Friday, 27th September is the last day of Term 3. School will recommence in Term 4 for staff and students alike, on Monday 14th October. The last day of the year for students is Wednesday 18th December.
McAuley Day
On the 24th of September every year, Sisters of Mercy and their friends around the world celebrate Mercy Day. This is the day on which Catherine McAuley first opened the House of Mercy in Ireland and dedicated it to Our Lady of Mercy.
This year, we will celebrate McAuley Day on Thursday 26th September. Parents are invited to come along and join in the festivities. We start the day with Mass at 9:30 in the Church. Mass will be followed by the heats of the McAuley sprints. After recess for one hour students will participate in a series of tabloid activities and then it is time to watch the talented students at Catherine McAuley Perform in the inaugural McAuley has Talent quest. Please stay and join us for a picnic lunch, which will be followed by the Tug-O-War competition and the finals of the sprints. It should be a FUN day.
Uniform
Please note below the correct school uniform to be worn at Catherine McAuley. Traditionally, Term 4 is the time to revert to summer uniform. As always, will we allow transition to summer uniform as we understand that there can be a cold snap in October.
