Happy National Science Week everyone!

The school theme for National Science Week in 2024 is Species Survival - More than just sustainability. The theme aims to highlight the importance of science and innovation in ensuring the survival and thriving of different species in an ever-changing world.

It’s been another big week in the STEM room. As well as many Science Week-themed activities happening across the classrooms, the Science Show has returned to the STEM room at lunchtimes this week.

Each lunch play time this week, the STEM captains, Arthur Garnier and Wynne Jackson (with able assistance from Max Gruar) have hosted a Science Show at the roller door entrance to the STEM room. Some select Year 5 students have presented experiments. This is the second year we have run this event after last year’s success.

On Thursday, the STEM captains will also be hosting some fun STEM activities in the staffroom for the teachers and learning mentors to try. Sphero robots, coding challenges and 3D puzzles will be on the STEM menu.
