Thank you so much to every single student who participated in our event! It was an absolutely awesome day, and the sun definitely shone down on us, making it even more special.
A big thank you to all the parents who did an incredible job preparing the country uniforms for the day. The students had smiles on their faces all day long, and it was one of those ripper days we'll remember for a long time.
As always, I couldn't have run the day without the wonderful staff at St Brendan's. A special shout-out to Mrs. Van Der Peet for the medal-making, Miss Waldock and Miss Brickwood for the signage, and Wendy and Louise for organizing the croissants. A big thank you to Amy for the delivery as well!
A massive thank you to our parent and teacher helpers who ran the events. It was a huge effort—11 countries, 11 events, and each one ran seamlessly. Thank you so much to Bella, Brooke, Emily, Ebony, Tara, Rob, Rachael, Trevor, Justin, Sandra, Catherine, and Jacqui.
A huge round of applause goes to our sport and school captains for helping me set up the events. A special shout-out to Evie J. for running the Opening Ceremony with me, and to Toby B. for conducting interviews while I rushed to complete the medal tally.
Congratulations to Ms. Waldock and her country, Madagascar, for taking home the gold! Well done to Ireland and Mrs. McKeown for grabbing the silver, and to Mrs. Van Der Peet for securing the bronze.
It was an amazing day, and I'm already pumped for the next one in four years... though I might need that time to recover! HAHA!
This Friday, August 23rd, while the rest of the students are enjoying their pupil-free day, I, along with 20 Year 5/6 students, will be heading down to the FDBA to compete in the annual Bayside District Basketball Competition. We’ll be playing in 11 games of basketball, and we’re absolutely pumped!'
The team has been practising hard every week, aiming to bring home the title. But, as always, our focus is on having a great time and doing our best. We’re excited to work together as a team and see how far we can go.
New PE Unit: Racquet Sports & Gymnastics
As our Olympic Unit comes to a close 😢, we’re excited to kick off new PE units!
For the next few weeks, our Year 3-6 students will be focusing on racquet sports, starting with tennis. We can’t wait to see them develop their skills and have fun on the court!
Meanwhile, our F-2 students will be exercising their skills on the mats with gymnastics. They’ll be focusing on key aspects such as balance, coordination, speed, stability, and strength.
We’re looking forward to a fun and active term ahead!
