Year One - Spotlight on Learning
Year One Highlights: A Week of Learning and Growth
Dear Families,
This week in Year One, students have actively participated in Child Protection Week, exploring the importance of safety at school and understanding what it means in their daily lives. We've emphasised maintaining an open line of communication between home and school, aligning with our motto of Safety, Respect, and Learning.
In mathematics, our focus has been on multiplication and division, introducing concepts like sharing, dividing, grouping, and arrays. The visual connections between these terms are crucial for building a strong foundation in these concepts.
To support a calm and focused learning environment, we’ve introduced meditation music during morning and afternoon transitions. This new practice has been a great success, helping students enter the classroom with a sense of calm and readiness for the day’s activities.
Kind regards,
Jerusalem Community
