Year Five - Spotlight on Learning
Dear Families,
What an exciting week it has been in Jericho! The students have thoroughly enjoyed their Drama Unit in Integrated Studies. We have some amazing up-and-coming actors in our community!
Next weeks learning;
Mathematics: Students will be focusing on shape, in particular 3D shape and nets.
English: Students will continue reading the class novel, Kensuke's Kingdom, while focusing on persuasive writing and sentence construction, particularly the use of subordinating conjunctions.
Religious Education: Students have been proactive in learning about the Sacramental Church and the Sacrament of Service. By joining 'action' groups, they have started putting this knowledge into practice. Below is a poster from one group advertising the pop-up blood bank located in Cranbourne.
SEL: Students will continue to look at the kinds of gender-based violence boys and girls may witness, experience or perpetrate in and around the school.
Integrated Studies: Students have continued to enjoy participating in the Drama unit.
This week, students acted out 'freeze frames' of the 7 Sacraments of the Church
as well as the Last Supper.
Auslan: Students will continue to learn sign languages for family members. Ask your child if they can sign the name for Mum and Dad.
