Year Four - Spotlight on Learning
Dear Parents,
Congratulations to the children in Bethany for their respectful participation and joyful singing during our community Mass. Thank you also to those who were able to attend.
It was great to see many father figures who came to our Father's Day celebration yesterday. May God bless all those who are Fathers in our lives.
Religious Education focus:
Next week we are looking at the Eucharist and its meaning. We will also explore the scripture of the centurion's servant and how it relates to the Mass.
English focus:
We are continuing our story of Storm Boy and writing our information reports about the Coorong.
Mathematics focus:
For Mathematics we are exploring maps and following directions. We will create and interpret grid reference systems using grid references, directions to locate, and describe positions and pathways.
Social/ Emotional Learning & RRRR:
We are investigating how gender roles are portrayed in the media. Students will identify examples of behaviours that are influenced by expectations relating to gender.
Auslan:
In Auslan students will be learning about how to show a character’s action in a signed story. Some signs will include 'I know', 'I don't know', 'I remember', 'I think' and 'I wonder'.

Reminders
Urgent: Please save and bring to school bottle cap lids. These are needed for Performing Arts lessons.
Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of September - First Communion Masses
With the current weather in mind - jumpers, jackets/coats and warm apparel is important during recess and lunch plays. Sometimes students may get dirty or wet. It would be strongly encouraged to pack some spare clothing items in their bags, just in case.
