Week 4 Term 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

Feast of the Assumption - Friday, August 15

A Huge Thank You - School Concert Success!

What an incredible evening we had at our recent school concert. We couldn’t be prouder of our students. Each and every one of them shone on stage with confidence, joy, and talent. Their hard work over the past 10 weeks of rehearsals truly paid off, and we hope you were just as proud of your child’s performance as we were.

We were thrilled with the fantastic turnout and the enthusiastic support from our school community. Ticket sales were strong, and we’re happy to share that all proceeds will go directly towards covering the cost of staging and lighting, as well as paying the professional videographer. As always, the school budgets for the “Dance ‘Til You Drop” company, which led the instruction over the term and supported the event on concert night.

We hope everyone enjoyed the performance and took a moment to praise their child for their dedication and courage to perform on stage. It was a night to remember ! A big shout-out to the staff for an incredible performance!  Well Done!

For families who would like a keepsake, DVDs of the concert will be available for purchase soon, and we’ll share details as soon as they’re ready. Thank you once again for your incredible support.

Congratulations to our Year 6 Students

Yesterday was a very special milestone for our Year 6 students as they received the Sacrament of Confirmation. We are so proud of the reverence, joy, and commitment you showed as you took this important step in your faith journey.

May the gifts of the Holy Spirit guide and inspire you as you continue to grow in faith, hope, and love. We pray that you always feel God’s presence in your life and use your gifts to serve others with kindness and courage.

A heartfelt thank you to the families, sponsors, staff, and parish community for their support and preparation leading up to this beautiful celebration.

STEMMAD @ STFIDELIS THURS AUG 14TH - Year 5/6

Why We Value STEMMAD at St Fidelis

At St Fidelis, we value STEM-MAD (Making a Difference) because it nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving. By integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, the Arts, and Design, we empower students to be innovative, collaborative, and future-ready learners.

This week, we’re proud to be hosting our own STEMMAD Showcase right here at St Fidelis' Hall.  Four other schools will be joining us, and our judging panel includes Ryan Evans (experienced Digitech and STEM teacher, incursion facilitator and presenter – and ‘that guy from LEGO Masters'),  Shelly Waldon (Science & STEM Lead at Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools) and Joanne Knights (Business Development Manager/STEM trainer/LEGO certified trainer for MTA). We’re hopeful that, like last year, some of our students may be selected to represent at the national level.

Please note that MACS is not running the event this year, so we’ve taken the lead in providing this exciting opportunity for our students and others in our local network.

Parents are invited to join us between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to see our next generation of inspiring young inventors in action.
