Now in the thick of the term, students have been engaged in purposeful learning across all year levels in the past fortnight.
A big thank you to our incredible teachers who opened their classroom to families this week, we had a fantastic turn out. It takes a great deal of professional courage to invite others into your teaching space — a space where so much care, planning, and expertise is woven into every moment. We are grateful for our team of educators who are not only highly skilled, but deeply committed to working together for a consistent, research-informed approach to learning. Your trust in their professionalism allows them to focus on what they do best — inspiring, challenging, and supporting each and every child to achieve their very best.
If you were unable to attend, you are welcome to arrange a time to visit with your child’s teacher – we understand that not all families can send a representative at the time outlined.
Individual Education Plan (and Student Support Group meetings) have also taken place in recent weeks. All parents are reminded that a meeting with your child’s teacher can be arranged at a mutually convenient time if you wish to discuss your child’s progress throughout the term, these are not solely for those students with an IEP.
Check out BBPS Life for more details of our pedagogy at BBPS - this week, a focus on how we continue to support and extend our students in their learning through targeted teaching.
Well done to all our merit award winners so far this year!
Our Acts of Kindness drive continues, check out the Leadership section of the newsletter for an update from some of our grades.
What’s coming up?
Athletics (Years 3–6): Parent helpers needed, please see Josh Ancrum. Compass Event now open for consent.
Kaboom Sports (P–2): Our Junior sports carnival will again take place onsite! Students to wear sport uniform - house colour shirts optional.
BBPS Premier’s Reading Challenge - Three a Day
Our school reading challenge for all classes is to read three picture books each day in a shared reading session (i.e as a class, together). Research indicates that opportunities to read aloud and listen to reading, at all ages, builds vocabulary, improves comprehension, and develops reading fluency. The books have been selected by our Library Captains using research-based recommended rich text lists – a curated list of high-quality, age-appropriate texts chosen to support language development and reading engagement.
7 days of 3-a-day in the lead up to Book Week (and our book parade on Wednesday 27 August). Go BBPS!
Assembly is on Monday - it is a fantastic showcase of the student-led initiatives across our school. All welcome in the Hall from 2:45pm.
Policy Review – We have recently completed a scheduled review of our Student Wellbeing and Engagement Policy and Bully Prevention Policy.
These policies guide the way we promote positive relationships, support student wellbeing, and respond to concerns around student wellbeing within our school community.
In practice, they underpin the expectations we set in classrooms and the approaches we use to help students develop respectful and inclusive behaviours. The review process is a timely opportunity to reflect on our current practices, and to ensure our strategies are clear, consistent, and effective in supporting all students.
Families are invited to provide any comments or suggestions on these policies.
Are our processes clear enough? Have we missed anything? Do our strategies listed support all our students based on the needs of our community?

2026 Enrolment Planning
If your child will not be attending BBPS in 2026, please notify the Administration Office as soon as possible. This information is important for our planning of classroom structures for next year.
2025 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey
The 2025 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey will be emailed to you on Monday, 18 August 2025, and will be open for completion online until Friday, 19 September 2025.
The survey invites feedback on:
School climate
Community engagement in learning
Teaching practices for student engagement and outcomes
Attitudes towards school attendance
Your opinions are important to us. They will help identify areas for improvement, inform professional development needs, and guide school planning and improvement strategies. The Department will also use the results for research purposes to improve outcomes for students. The survey is anonymous, and we encourage you to respond as honestly as possible. We would greatly appreciate your participation by Friday, 19 September 2025.
