Wellbeing Update

At Wollert Primary School, we are proud to have a strong and dedicated Wellbeing Team supporting our students. The team includes Dean (Assistant Principal- Wellbeing and Inclusion), Callum (Disability Inclusion Leading Teacher), Lisa (Education Support Staff Coach and Lead), Nicole and Lauren (Psychologists), Shanae and Surabhi (Speech Pathologists) and Rachel (Wellbeing Administration Support). Together, we work closely with students, staff, and families to ensure every child feels safe, connected, and ready to learn.

This term, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons are running every Monday morning. These sessions include circle time and structured activities designed to help students build confidence, develop empathy, and strengthen their ability to manage emotions. Alongside this, targeted social groups are taking place across the school, with a focus on problem solving, forming and maintaining friendships, and building resilience.

We are also seeing great success with our Make it Right Room, a supportive space open at recess and lunch where students can come to talk through and resolve playground issues. By encouraging children to problem solve and repair relationships, we’ve noticed a significant improvement in playground behaviour and student wellbeing.

Finally, we’d like to acknowledge the fantastic effort of our students and families in supporting attendance. Wollert Primary School’s overall attendance rate is currently 1.5% higher than this time last year, which is a wonderful achievement. Every day at school really does count, and we thank you for continuing to prioritise regular attendance.
