Book Week

Thank you to all our students and families for a wonderful fun filled week. Our gym was full of smiles, laughter, and lots of Meadows spirit. Book Week is a nationally recognised week where schools, kinders and childcare centres recognise Australian authors and illustrators. 

Reading at home with your child 

Starting your child on the road to reading is very exciting! Reading at home is vital for the development of children’s literacy skills, especially vocabulary and comprehension. By making reading part of your daily routine, you can help your child build a strong foundation for academic success and a lifelong love of reading.

Some tips and tricks to use to encourage enjoyment of reading at home

• Read to your child/ren
• Involve your child/ren in choosing books to read
• Encourage reading about topics of interest 
• Develop family reading routines and rituals
• Reread favourite books
• Have fun while reading
