Year 12 Art Making and Exhibiting Excursion
Wednesday 30 July 2025
On Wednesday July 30th Year 12 Art Making & Exhibiting students visited two galleries for their Conservation and Care of Artworks outcome. We started the excursion by visiting McClelland Sculpture Park where we were given a tour of some of their most famous outdoor sculptures, like Frankie the gnome, where it was explained how a range of outdoor artworks are conserved, transported and stored for display in shown exhibitions.
We then headed over to the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery where students explored the ‘Do You Read Me’ exhibition on display showcasing text-based works, mainly on paper, from the MPRG Collection. Students were given a chance to talk to the curator as well as be shown the collection area to see how works are stored and cared for.
