P&F Meetings
Our next P&F meeting will be held in the staff room at school next week on Wednesday 27 August 9:00am - 9:30am.
Father's and Special Persons Day Stalls
Our Father's and Special Persons Day Stalls are coming up fast. Kinder stalls will run on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 August ($2 per child). The school stall will be held on Tuesday 2 August, 2:30 - 3:30pm (grades 5 and 6) and Friday 5 August (Foundation to grade 4), 9am to 12pm, with gifts ranging from $1-5. If you are free to help out on any of the above days, please sign up at https://volunteersignup.org/7Q8K9. A valid WWCC is essential to volunteer on the day.
Secondhand Uniform Stall
If your kids are anything like mine, they'll be growing out of uniforms faster than you can buy new ones. Thankfully, our secondhand uniform stash is fully stocked and ready to find new homes! Secondhand uniforms will be on sale in the reception area on Friday 5 September between 8:30 and 9:00am and again between 3:15 and 3:45pm. Come along and grab those extra uniform pieces you need! If anyone is free to help out either before or after school, please let me know.
If you have any good condition secondhand uniforms lying around at home, please consider donating these to the school. Donations can be dropped off to the office at any time.
Movie Night
Our movie night organisers have been super busy behind the scenes organising our 2025 movie night, and it isn't far off now! We've just about secured our time and date, so watch this space for more details real soon.
Class WhatsApp Groups
All class WhatsApp groups have been set up for 2025. If you have not received the details for your class chat, please email me at mprps.pf@gmail.com with your child's name and the class they are in, and I'll get you the right links. These groups will play an important role in our communications this year, alongside our notices and the newsletter.
Community Support Representative
Our Community Support Representative is Jess Walker, who has been part of the MPRPS community as a parent for over 17 years. Over her time, she has seen many changes at the school: staff, buildings, curriculum, events and many more. But the one thing that has never changed is the sense of connection and community our school offers. Whether it's manning a Mother's or Father's Day stall, cooking sausages at Twilight Sports, being a parent helper in the classroom or having a coffee catch up with other parents after drop off, these are all valuable connections to our school community.
Another way in which MPRPS fosters connection to the community is by aiding families who may need a helping hand. All families struggle with something at some time, and we can help make those times a bit more bearable. Some of the ways we can assist is by providing meals to families who are having a difficult time. This could be due to an illness or a death in the family, or any other form of hardship a family may be experiencing. We have also assisted families to borrow or be gifted items for school camps such as raincoats, sleeping bags and other essentials. If we can't help with your request, we will do our best to connect you with services that can.
Jess understands that sometimes it can be difficult to ask for help, and she would like to assure everyone that all requests from parents and carers are confidential. The community members assisting with the requests are not given the names of the family in need. You can send Jess an email or text, or you can ask a friend to approach her on your behalf. Chatting to your friends to bring awareness of this service would also help us spread the word.
If you believe we can be of assistance to you or your family, please email Jess on mprps.community@gmail.com or text/call her on 0433 050 092.
