Highlight
Selamat Siang,
We have had a fantastic week filled with exciting learning experiences and special events.
We began the week by celebrating Indonesian Day. A highlight was taking part in traditional Indonesian dance lessons, where we got to see what traditional Indonesian dances look like and have a go at some of the moves ourselves!
In the classroom, our Mathematics focus has been on partitioning. Students have been developing their understanding of how numbers can be broken into equal groups and parts, helping to build strong number knowledge and problem-solving skills. We have had lots of worded problems and used many hands-on materials like counters to help us solve some tricky division equations.
We ended the week on a high note with our Book Week celebrations. Each class worked hard to create a themed door display, and the school was buzzing with excitement as students admired one another’s creativity. On Friday we got to dress up as some of our favourite book characters and attended a fantastic parade where we got to see some amazing costumes and learn about some fantastic new books. It was a wonderful way to finish a week full of learning and fun!
Have a great week,
Miss Emmett, Em Glen & Jonny Hobbs, Katrina Chooi, Miss Shaye, Cassie Brisbane & Beth Szentesi
Reminders
- Our library is open! Please ensure your child has their library book and bag on their day.
- Whilst Pokemon cards are a lot of fun, we are asking that these cards only be bought to school on a Friday when Pokémon club is on.
- We are asking for students to leave small toys at home as some of the toys that have recently been brought to school are going missing which of course brings great disappointment.
- Students are growing and at times very hungry! They are encouraged to bring some fruit/vegetables to have during a fruit break mid-morning.
