Leadership Centre

Selamat siang,
What an incredible week of learning and celebration we’ve had!We began with Indonesian Day, arriving dressed in red, white, and traditional-inspired clothing to honour the Indonesian flag. Students in the Leadership Centre rotated through a variety of cultural activities—designing their own shadow puppets, experimenting with batik-inspired paper craft, playing the traditional game congklak, and even planning their own dream Indonesian holiday. A highlight was the vibrant Indonesian Dance Performance organised by Bu Yana, which brought the culture to life in such an engaging way.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, it was also Book Week! This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure!”, encouraged students to dive into reading in creative and meaningful ways. Across the week, students enjoyed Buddy Reading sessions with our Foundation and Year One classes, decorated class doors with imaginative displays, shared stories together, and tuned into an inspiring author webinar. On Wednesday, we were fortunate to welcome Heath McKenzie, who spoke with our Year 5/6 students about his journey as an author, illustrator, and now art director for the ABC TV show Do Not Watch This Show. We wrapped up the week with the much-anticipated Book Week Dress Up Parade, a joyful celebration of characters, stories, and imagination.
It truly was a jam-packed week of learning, creativity, and fun! We can’t wait to see what the rest of Term 3 brings.
Have a great week ahead,
From the Leadership Centre
