Term 3 - Week 5
Thank you to Bu Yana for organising such an immersive Indonesian Day for our students. The day brought the dance, culture, language, and traditions of Indonesia to life in a truly engaging way. Our students walked away with not only new knowledge but also a deeper appreciation for Indonesian culture.
Terima kasih banyak, Bu Yana!
A huge thank you to our incredible English team for organising a fantastic range of events to celebrate Book Week! From inspiring author visits from Heath MacKenzie and Sandhya Menon, two talented authors we are grateful to have in our school community, to the wonderful opportunity for students to visit other classes and read with different teachers, every activity was thoughtfully planned and greatly enjoyed.
Our classes all decorated their doors with their faviourite book. Make some time for a tour around see what each class created.
The week was topped off by our much-loved annual Book Week Parade, where students and staff brought their favourite book characters to life withd enthusiasm. Thank you to everyone who made this week such a memorable celebration of reading!
Starting Monday, families will be able to access the school before and after school through the staff car park located next to the junior playground. In the coming weeks we will have a new walking path painted to ensure students are able to walk safely through the staff car park. Please ensure to take extra caution in the meantime.
This week, we were pleased to regain access to the junior playground for our Foundation to Year 2 students. From Wednesday to Friday, each class had the opportunity to visit the playground with their teachers. During these sessions, students were reintroduced to the space and reminded of the social expectations and playground rules, helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Starting Monday, all junior students will be able to access the playground during both recess and lunch. We're excited to see them making the most of this wonderful outdoor area once again, building friendships, engaging in active play, and developing important social skills.
On Monday 25th August, we are honoured to welcome Shaun Leane MP to officially open our new building. We’ve chosen to mark this milestone with a small event, and we are very much looking forward to hosting a larger community celebration once our new basketball courts are completed.
Unfortunately, progress on the courts has been delayed due to ongoing cold nights and moisture issues, which are currently preventing line marking from moving forward. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding, and we can’t wait to celebrate this exciting development with our school community in the near future.
Our school is conducting the annual Parent Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. See Compass post for log in details.
Starting September 1st, all students are required to wear hats when outdoors as part of our SunSmart policy. We ask families to please ensure your child brings a broad-brimmed or school-approved hat to school every day to help protect them from the sun’s harmful rays.
Following valuable feedback from the community and successful negotiations with Aquanation, we are pleased to announce that the 2026 swimming program has been confirmed for March 17th to March 27th 2026.
Running the program at the end of Term 1, provides an ideal opportunity for the program to run in the warmer weather.
For families of students in Years 3 and 5 in 2026, NAPLAN will be held from 11th–23rd March. We have ensured that the main NAPLAN testing period will not conflict with the swimming program.
This year, the national celebration takes place on Wednesday 3 September 2025. Families may choose to acknowledge this with a card, drawing, handpicked bunch of lflowers or a simple thank you to our Kinder educators.
Have a lovely weekend.
