Hello parents and guardians,
I am Razan, and I am Matthew, we are SUP leaders in our school. We have more announcements about the SUP (Stand Up Project) program! In this term we are going to start teaching students about how to be an upstander. So we will be going to all of the Year 3-5 classes and we will be exploring how to be an upstander, so when a problem occurs everyone has experience and knows what to do during a challenging situation.
Parents at Deer Park West, we promote good behaviour around our peers, and if seen, students will receive a reward called a PAC (Pride and Achievement) card, which can then be used to buy fun items from our own Hub. It's a sign to show good behaviour and we encourage it very much!
We are proud to say that we are excited to teach our fellow students how to become upstanders in our school and help make our school a safe and fun, learning environment.

This week during Gardening Club, students were thrilled to harvest plenty of fresh parsnips, celery, spring onions, and snow peas to take home and enjoy! In addition to harvesting, students worked together to water the plants thoroughly and remove weeds, helping to keep our garden healthy.
Gardening Club runs every Tuesday at recess. All students are welcome!

At Deer Park West Primary School, every Wednesday the school participates in Waste Free Wednesday. The students are encouraged to bring a lunch box with NO RUBBISH for both recess and lunch. This is a great way to reduce the amount of waste we create in order to make the earth healthier.
Please assist your child/children in doing this by taking items out of their packets before coming to school.
Thank you,
