Assistant Principal Reports

Hello Everyone,

School Holidays – Yard Work

Over the school holidays we had some work done around the grounds.

The biggest job was replacing the artificial turf on the basketball and pickleball court area. First impressions from students have been great; with Ms Davies very happy that the basketball court now has the proper markings.

The other job was the replacement of the storage shed near the Foundation Playground. This included the removal of the old shed and concrete slab, a new larger slab made and then the new, larger shed installed. We now have the plumbers in to finish off the drainage to stormwater. While they do this, there will be some disruption to the access gate.

Pride and Integrity Raffle

This raffle recognizes all the students who are attending school on time.  This is to acknowledge the students demonstrating Pride and Integrity by being ready to learn each day.

Every student who is at school, and in their classroom, before the bell (9am) will have their name added to the class attendance box. So, if they are present on time, every day of the week, they will have 5 entries into the raffle.

The winners from the last week of last term were:

FA – Poojith, FB – Amari, 1A – Gawa, 1B – Brayden, 3A – Peyland, 4A – Khenrab, 4B – Adelynn, 4C – Diya, 5A – Trajko, 5B – Nesan, 5C – Rayyan, 6B - Eleesha

The raffle winner was Rayyan from 5C! Congratulations!

Rayyan received 15 PACs for Pride & Integrity

2025 Term 4 Challenge of the Week

This term’s challenge is a series of Brain Teasers. Some of them will be like riddles, some will be around maths or language.

Week 1: Language Brain Teasers

You need to try to answer the brain teasers as best you can.

You must collaborate with at least one other person (a friend, parent, classmate, etc) and no more than 3 other people. If you do not collaborate, you will not receive a PAC for collaboration.

Kind regards,

Celebrating Learning Through Seesaw

At Deer Park West PS, we are proud of the effort and progress our students make every week and we want families to share in that pride. Each week, students are posting examples of their learning on Seesaw, offering a window into the wonderful things happening in our classrooms.

We encourage all parents and carers to check Seesaw regularly and take a moment to celebrate your child’s achievements. Your interest and encouragement show children that their learning matters and helps build a strong connection between home and school.

If you need support accessing Seesaw, please speak with your child’s teacher or contact the school office.

Parents in School

Friendly Reminder…parents should not be entering the school buildings unattended. For example, parents should not be going into the corridor to get their child’s bags, entering buildings outside of school hours or using the student toilets. Please come to the office and we are happy to help you with any enquiries.

Foundation 2026 Enrolments – Transition Begins Soon!

Starting Thursday 16th October, we will begin our Foundation Transition Program for children starting school in 2026. Families who have already enrolled for next year should have received an email with details about their child’s attendance at the first session.

This program is designed to support a smooth and confident start to school life. To ensure your child is fully prepared and able to participate in all transition activities, please make sure they are enrolled with us as soon as possible.

Enrolments for Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Deer Park West Primary School are still open!

Starting school is a major milestone, and at Deer Park West Primary School, we are committed to supporting families every step of the way. Our school offers a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive.

If you have a child starting Foundation in 2026—or know someone who does—please contact our school office to learn more about the enrolment process and collect a transition pack. This can also be accessed through our school website. We’re here to make this transition a positive and exciting experience for every child and family.

Kind regards,
