We’ve had a wonderful start to the new term. It’s been fantastic to see how smoothly the students have settled back into their classrooms and routines. Their positive attitude and readiness to learn have created a calm and focused atmosphere, setting us up for a great term ahead.

Our Learning for Weeks 1 & 2

English 

To read and write the phoneme /oi/ represented by the graphemes oi and oy.

To also read and write words containing the alternative grapheme for the long a sound – a-e as in chase.

To investigate the purpose and structure of persuasive texts. 

Maths

To understand the concept of division as sharing.

To make equal shares and record the shared between sentences

InquiryTo show an understanding of where different types of food come from and sort them into food from plants and animals. 
SEL

To identify the importance of listening as a key skill for learning.

To describe some actions that make me feel proud. 

To identify some strengths the students use at school. 

News and Reminders:

  • Hats- All students are required to wear a hat during recess and lunchtime this term. If a student does not have a hat, they will need to sit under the shade sails near the courtyard. Thank you for helping us promote sun safety at school! 
  • Blue Reader Bags- Please ensure your child brings their blue reader bag on their designated day. This allows their teacher to check their reading log and helps students change their readers regularly. Reading consistently throughout the week is so important for developing and strengthening reading skills—thank you for your support!
  • Monday 3rd November – Alternate Student Arrangements Day - class teachers unavailable.
  • Tuesday 4th November - CUP DAY public holiday. No students at school. 
  • Wednesday 26th November - Curriculum Day. No students required at school.
