If you are interested in growing some new spring plants then be sure to check out the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens this weekend - Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of October as they are having a spring plant sale. Lots of native plants to help your garden become a biodiversity hotspot.
Battery Blitz is back!
The City of Casey has announced the Battery Blitz program is back. Hillsmeade is taking part again. You can help us win a party by bringing in old and unused batteries from home.
Household batteries accepted: AAA, AA, C, D, 9V, 6V, and button cell sizes only.
The competition has started and we have already collected one tub of batteries for recycling. Please bring any of the above used batteries to school for our Marine Team to safely package and send off to be recycled.
When batteries go into our kerbside bins, they cause fires, they need to go in specialist drop-off points. Our school can be your drop off point so we can safely send them to be recycled.
Each year the Aussie Bird Count team relies on everyday people to help collate important data on our Australian native birds. This year you can join the count and document the native birds you see in your area. During October 20-26 keep a tally of the birds you spot and record them online.
