Basketball Trials vs Waverley College

On Saturday, our A teams and the First V Basketball Team took to the court for pre-season trials against Waverley College – a school with a strong basketball reputation. It was a challenging but valuable start to the season, marking the first time many of our teams had the opportunity to play together.

Despite the tough competition, there were plenty of highlights throughout the day. A standout performance came from the Year 8 A team, who pushed Waverley right to the final whistle in a thrilling, narrow loss. Across all games, there were numerous impressive individual efforts, reflecting the skill and determination of our players.

It was fantastic to see basketball return to the College Gym, and this early test will no doubt serve as a positive stepping stone for all teams as the season progresses.

Baseball Update: First IX and U14 Teams

The First IX approached their second game of the Baseball season with enthusiasm and courage, getting off to a flying start by scoring four runs in the opening inning. Heath Patterson’s consistent pitching kept the Five Dock Falcons under significant pressure throughout the game. Although the final score was a close 8-11 loss, Coach O’Connor was very pleased with the team’s effort and potential, confident this season will be a positive and rewarding experience for all involved.

Meanwhile, the U14 Baseball Team continues to develop and grow under the guidance of Coach Tabbara. He has been incredibly impressed with the team’s dedication and hard work, especially as many players are still learning the game. Their commitment to improvement promises great progress throughout the season. In the end going down 9-15 against quality opposition shows promising signs to come.
