Our school’s basketball teams had an incredible run at the recent Wantirna District Basketball Competition, showcasing skill, teamwork, and resilience across every game.
The boys/mixed team played outstandingly in the round-robin stage, winning all but one of their matches. Their strong performance earned them a spot in the semi-finals, where they battled hard in a nail-biting double-overtime game, narrowly missing out on a grand final spot. Undeterred, the team regrouped and delivered a determined performance in the 3rd place playoff, securing a well-earned 18–12 victory and finishing the competition in 3rd place overall—a fantastic achievement!
The girls' team charged their way through the round robin stage, winning mst of their games. They dominated their semi-final with a commanding 29–10 win, advancing to the grand final with confidence. In a thrilling final match that kept everyone on the edge of their seats, they fought bravely but were just edged out by a single point, finishing as runners-up in the competition. A remarkable effort and a true display of perseverance and sportsmanship! We wish our girls the best as they advance to the Knox Division Basketball Championships!
Congratulations to all players and coaches on an impressive showing and for representing our school with pride and passion!
