Skye PS Art Show – Coming Next Wednesday

We're excited to invite you to the Skye Primary School Art Show on Wednesday 22nd October. This much-loved event will feature an incredible showcase of creative work from every year level, highlighting the visual art talents of our students. There will be a wide range of fun activities to enjoy, and our barbecue will be serving sausages alongside cool drinks and icy poles. We'll also have stalls from local creatives, making it a fantastic evening to celebrate student creativity and community.

Grandparents' Open Morning

We're looking forward to welcoming our grandparents for a special open morning on Friday 31st October from 8:45 - 9:45am. Skye Primary deeply values the connection between home and school, and we recognise the important role that grandparents play in our students' lives. Please join us for classroom visits and fun activities as we celebrate multigenerational connections across our school.

Kindergarten Update

We're pleased to share that Community Kinders Plus (CKP), a community-based Early Years Management (EYM) organisation, has been appointed as the provisional kindergarten service provider for the kindergarten on our school site (KOSS). The service is due to open in 2027, and we look forward to working with CKP to support strong early years pathways for local families.

Class Placement for 2026

Planning for next year is underway, and staff will be working carefully on class placements over the coming weeks. Students will have an opportunity to indicate some preferred classmates as part of the process. If you have specific requests regarding your child's placement, please email me at timothy.bernau@education.vic.gov.au by Friday 7th November. Before submitting a request, we ask that you review our Skye PS Class Placement Policy to ensure alignment with our approach.

BER Building Works – Classrooms Ready for 2026

We’re thrilled to share that the building works in the BER are now complete. Beginning in the September holidays, each end of the BER was converted into two additional classrooms, each with an adjoining therapy and intervention space. The result is fantastic and gives us plenty of time this term to set up and equip the rooms so they’re ready for students at the start of next year.

Father's Day – Community Spirit in Action

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Father's Day breakfast and stall this year. Together, we raised $1547 from the breakfast and $925 from the stall, with every dollar going towards important Playground upgrades that will benefit all students. We extend a special shout-out to Sally Woodall and Kate Yorke for their tireless efforts with the PTF—your energy and commitment continue to inspire our community.

Have a great fortnight!

Warm regards,

Tim
