Literacy
We are well on the way into our third Novel Study of the year, focusing on Nevermoor, by Jessica Townsend. The genre is Fantasy and our main character, Morrigan Crow finds herself being saved by the mysterious Jupiter North and taken into the fantastic world of Nevermoor.
We are writing a Memory Book of our times at Primary School. However, this will be quite different to the usual recount as we will be covering seven different styles of writing. For Prep, we used an acrostic poem and for Grade One with wrote a series of diary entries. The finished product will be a lovely keepsake for the students. I wish I had one to look back on!
Mathematics
As we wrap up the students' primary school mathematics education, we finish the year with problem solving and order of operations. We have also had a times table blitz as, after meeting with the respective seconary schools in the area, they are finding that students are increasingly entering with very little number fluency.
Well-Being
This term we are focusing on respect in relationships and how to use your positive character traits to foster family relationships, friendships and partnerships.
All the best,
Ms. Grant, Mr. Keenan and Mr. Taberner
