Selamat Siang,
This week in Reading, students have been exploring elements of visual literacy through some texts by the author and illustrator Bob Graham. We have explored characters emotions though expressions and actions, defined vocabulary such as "challenges" and "legendary" and "mammoth". In Phonics we have continued to learn the /or/ sound to help us read, write and spell words. Did you know that there are 12 spellings of the /or/ sound (au, or, aw, a, al, ar, ough, ore, oar, augh, oor, and our)? Some are common and some are uncommon. What words do you know with the /or/ sound?
In Mathematics, we have continued to solve divison problems using arrays and our place value knowledge. Students are improving their fluency in knowing their doubles (x2 facts) and halves (divided by 2). Ask your child to show you how to solve the problem 24 divided by 2 and 24 divided by 4!
On Friday we had our Fathers Day stall and the students were buzzing with excitement to surprise their Fathers with a small gift! Happy Father Day! We hope you have a fabulous weekend!
