Term 3 - Week 7
We would like to remind you that our school uniform colors are orange and blue. Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed in these colors to help us maintain a sense of unity and school spirit.
We are excited to announce that the collection for the Pleasant Day Out Raffle will begin this Monday. To participate, please hand in your donations to your class teacher or leave them in the designated raffle collection boxes located in the office foyer.
Your generous contributions help make this event a success.
This week, we warmly welcomed the Foundation Grandparents and Special Friends into our foundation classrooms. It was a special time where we listened to stories and connected through talking about family hertitage and culture.
The children drew beautiful pictures of their families. To celebrate this, we proudly placed the drawings on a giant map of the world, showing just how wonderfully diverse and connected we all are.
Thank you to all our visitors for joining us and making this experience so memorable.
As we approach the end of this term, we would like to take a moment to congratulate Erin Dawson, who will be taking family leave as she prepares to welcome twins in Term 4. We are incredibly excited for Erin and wish her all the best on this wonderful journey as her family grows by not 1, but 2 bundles of joy.
We are also thrilled to share the happy news that Bu Yana is expecting. We congratulate Bu Yana and look forward to celebrating this special time with her when her baby arrives in 2026!
This week out Grade 5 and 6 students went off to Camp Oasis for 3 days and 2 nights.
Outdoor education is reflected in the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 in the F-10 Health and Physical Education curriculum area. Outdoor education engages students to develop positive relationships with self, others and with outdoor environments through interaction with the natural world. Distinct from outdoor learning, which is a broad term used to describe any learning outside the classroom, outdoor education usually involves residential or journey-based experiences to impart personal, social and critical thinking capabilities, physical skills, and subject-specific knowledge. School camps are a perfect example of this.
Students took part in a range of activities including archery, rock, climbing, low ropes, giant swing, candle making and outdoor laser tag. Students were able to collaborate with other students, staff and camp supervisors to build resilience, work with others and have a fabulous time!
On Wednesday, we celebrated Early Childhood Educators Day. This is a special occasion to recognise the incredible dedication, care, and passion our Kinder educators bring to their work every day.
We want to extend our appreciation to Jane, Emily S, Treesje, Amelia, Christina, Jo, Carol, Kristy, and Paige for the vital role you each play in shaping young minds and creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.
Your commitment to early learning, your patience, creativity, and endless enthusiasm make a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families. This day was a reminder of how fortunate we are to have such an outstanding team. Thank you for everything you do.
Last week, some of our 5/6 students participated in the Hooptime Basketball Tournament, competing against other schools.
A huge congratulations to all the students who took part, your sportsmanship wwas truly commendable. You represented our school with pride, and we are incredibly proud of your efforts on and off the court.
A special congratulations goes out to the girls' team, who are now semi-finals bound! What an amazing achievement!
There is still time to complete the annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.
The link was sent to each family via Compass on Thursday.
Our student leaders have been hard at work planning two special events to make the final week of school extra memorable and fun for everyone. Get ready for both a disco and a footy day, two fantastic ways to celebrate and enjoy the week of term together!
Dance the day away with great music, lights, and lots of fun. It’s the perfect chance to let loose and celebrate with your friends.
Show off your team spirit by wearing your favorite footy gear, and get involved in some friendly games and activities.
Both events promise to create an exciting and enjoyable atmosphere, making the end of the school term something to really look forward to.
On Tuesday, we held an emergency evacuation drill as part of our ongoing commitment to safety. These regular drills are essential for ensuring that both staff and students are well-prepared in the event of an actual emergency.
The drill provided an important opportunity for staff to practice their specific roles and responsibilities, helping to ensure a smooth and efficient response. For students, it was a valuable experience to learn how to leave the classroom calmly and quietly, following instructions carefully to stay safe.
By practicing these procedures regularly, we aim to create a safe and secure environment for everyone in our school community.
With such a short 9 week term, it is only two weeks until the holidays. This is friendly reminder we will finish at 2.30 on Friday 19th of September.
Have a wonderful weekend. Let's hope all the Dads get spolit!!
