Another successful Term House Lunch very well subscribed by students and staff.
Mr Pearce and the House Captains do an amazing job of making this happen. A great community event. Congratulations Ibbott House who won the most points.
This Term in Year 2 the students have been exploring Australian geography and First Nations culture. As part of the unit, students have researched, located and labelled key information on their Australia Map projects. Today we celebrated their amazing work where students shared with families and peers what they have learnt about Australia, landmarks, and significant sites.
Today our Year 1 students proudly shared their wonderful mini beast models and beautifully illustrated flip books with their families and special visitors. The children have been busy learning about insects and other tiny creatures, and it was fantastic to see their creativity and knowledge shine through in their projects. Thank you to the families who joined us—it was a special opportunity for the children to celebrate their learning and share their excitement about the world of minibeasts!
Buddies 4K and FM spent some time before the house lunch designing and creating posters and wristbands for their house colours!
This term, Foundation students have been learning all about living things and what they need to grow and survive. As part of their learning, they have each chosen a farm animal to research and have been busy creating their own diorama to show the animal in its habitat.
I.P.S Student Newsletter Report
Hello students, staff and parents of I.P.S,
My name is Rondelle, your Sutherland vice-captain, and I'm here to talk about this successful term.
This term has been fun and busy! We had our school athletics where lots of students tried their best and some even qualified for divisions, which is awesome. Our touch rugby teams, volleyball teams and tennis teams did an amazing job competing in inter-school sport. The girls touch rugby team made it all the way into the grand final! Everyone has also been earning lots of house points and showing loads of house spirit (go Sutherland 🟨).
We also had many exciting events this term, including the Mitch Tambo performance following Naidoc Week, Grade 1 mini beast exhibition, Foundation exhibition on farm animals, Grade 2’s Australian map expo, R U OK? Day activities, the Natural Disaster project presentations, our fantastic Night of Music, the Grade 6 Basketball Gala Day, and of course, Book Week with its special performance and dress-up parade.
It’s hard to believe that Term 4 is almost here and the year will soon be over!
On the very first day of next Term, the Year 6s will be heading off to camp and travelling to Canberra to visit Parliament and see lots of important places.
We can’t wait to see everyone back next term, ready for more fun and learning together! Have a great holiday.
