The CASEA (CAMHS and Schools Early Action) Program is part of Bendigo Health's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and will be working with our school for term 3 and 4.
CASEA is an early intervention program that aims to improve children's social and emotional development, promote connection, understanding and wellbeing.
The CASEA team will be working with our school offering parent/carer information and support sessions, working with school staff and the whole school community.
CASEA will be facilitating a group program designed for children and their parents/caregivers that will be run over 7 weeks. The program offers connecting between parent and involves an assessment component for the allocated child.
The program is free for your family and also the school.
Please contact Karli Price for more information if you are interested in joining the group, we have two more places available, with the group commencing in the final week of this term.
This week we continue to focus on the 5 Ways to Mental Wellbeing, having already focused on the importance of learning, giving, noticing and appreciating, we now spend time this week to think about how we Connect with others. Developing healthy social relationships can increase our feelings of happiness, security, belonging and self-worth. Did you know that positive wellbeing can also be passed on through relationships? Spending time with positive people can in fact improve your own psychological wellbeing.
This week students will be encouraged, through the Big Question, and Break Club activities to think about how they can connect with others, increase their positive connections and make our school values of caring for others, and caring for themselves be part of their everyday actions in the classroom and in the yard.
Connecting with others also gives us a chance to help and support others, and it also provides us with the opportunity to receive support from others. This is an important focus for us this week as we also look at how we support each other through meaningful conversation and asking RU OK? RU OK? Is a question we can ask any day, and it is recommended that we use these four steps when we are concerned for someone:
If you, or someone you know, is in need of support please know that help is available, and it’s okay to not be okay.
If someone you know is not OK, support is available from the following organisations:
Remember you can always call these free services for support and advice on what to do next.
If you or someone else is in danger, call 000 immediately.
