Wellbeing and Inclusion Update

At Wollert Primary School, we are committed to supporting every child’s learning, wellbeing, and overall development. Part of this commitment includes providing access to our Educational Psychologists and Speech Pathologists, who play a key role in helping students, staff, and families.

We are fortunate to have two Educational Psychologists on our team – Mrs. Nicole Davey and Ms. Lauren Rizzo.

The role of an Educational Psychologist is to:

  • Conduct assessments to better understand a student’s learning needs and strengths.
  • Support and upskill staff with strategies to enhance student learning and wellbeing in the classroom.
  • Provide counselling for students, particularly around managing worries, anxieties, and emotional regulation.
  • Offer recommendations to support both academic progress and positive social behaviours.

We are also lucky to have two Speech Pathologists on our team – Ms. Surabhi Budhiraja and Ms. Shanae Bond.

The role of a Speech Pathologist is to:

  • Conduct speech and language assessments to identify strengths and areas for development.
  • Inform planning so that classroom strategies and programs best support students’ communication needs.
  • Work directly with students in individual or small group settings to develop speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Build staff capacity by sharing strategies and resources that enhance communication outcomes for all students.

Our Educational Psychologists and Speech Pathologists work closely with teachers and families to ensure students are supported in a holistic way, both at school and at home. Their focus is always on helping children achieve their potential, while building resilience and confidence.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in supporting the wellbeing and learning of all students at Wollert Primary.
