Junior School

Father’s Day
This morning, we welcomed a very special group of guests to our Junior School: fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures who play such a vital role in the lives of our boys. This year's Father’s Day Breakfast was another wonderful occasion as the room was filled with laughter, conversation and sporting colours.
Beyond the delicious food and Spirit of Community, the morning was a chance to reflect on the profound impact these men have on our boys. Whether you are a dad, stepdad, grandfather, or uncle, your presence in a boy’s life matters deeply. You are role models in the truest sense. You guide the young man in your life with patience, strength, and love.
Fatherhood is found in the everyday moments: kicking the footy, shooting hoops, sharing a laugh, reading bedtime stories that turn into wrestling matches, or simply sitting together in silence during a car ride that becomes a deep conversation. These moments, though small, continue to shape character and build connection. They continue to teach values not through words, but through examples.
Importantly, we also honour fathers who are no longer with us. Their legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the traditions we keep, and the people we’ve become. Though they may not be with us on Sunday, they are never far from our hearts.
To all the men who joined us: thank you. Thank you for showing up, for leading with love, and for being the kind of role models our boys need. We hope you enjoyed the morning and that this Sunday brings more special moments with your families - you have certainly earned it. To all the fathers in our community; Happy Father’s Day.
Wellness Week
Wellness Week this year provided us with time to stop, reflect and recharge. Met with beautiful spring conditions for the majority of the week, Junior School boys were involved in a number of different events this week. As we look forward to a fun and engaging week ahead, our focus remains firmly on promoting student wellbeing.
Throughout Wellness Week, our boys engaged with presentations on self-management and Year 7 transition, a whole Junior School wellness walk, yoga, mindfulness colouring and no homework.
Thank you to the families who took time to talk with their sons about the week’s activities and use this opportunity to discuss wellbeing more broadly. Wellbeing is more than just feeling good. It is about building resilience, maintaining a positive mindset, and developing healthy relationships and habits. It plays a vital role in how students connect, learn, and thrive at school.
Book Fair
Throughout the week, the Junior School Library was a popular place to be as the Scholastic Book Fair returned once again. It was great to see so many boys eagerly browsing the shelves, discovering new titles, and securing the next instalment in their favourite series. The joy of reading was truly alive, with students sharing recommendations, chatting about characters, and diving into new adventures.
The success of the Book Fair would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of Mrs. Spencer, whose organisation brought the event to life. We also extend our sincere thanks to the many parent volunteers who generously gave their time throughout the week, your support made all the difference.
God Bless,
Mr James McPherson
Head of Junior School
Year 5 Camp Briefing
A reminder for all Year 5 parents that the Parent Information Session will be held on Monday 15 September at 3:30 PM. The briefing will take place in the Year 5 White classroom. Whilst parents are in the information session, supervision will be provided in the Undercover Area for boys who are required to wait for their parents. All information regarding Camp and packing instructions will be included in Consent2Go and repeated at the parent briefing.
Exciting Achievement in Coding and STEM Club!
Last term, students in our Coding and STEM Club took part in the Perth Observatory Challenge, where over 1,100 students across Western Australia submitted innovative designs aimed at helping astronomers explore the sky, space, and the universe. Out of all these entries, the Perth Observatory team selected just nine standout creations — and we’re thrilled that one of them was from our very own Year 6 student, Isaak Sergeant.
Isaak designed an “Atom Extractor,” a device imagined to break down atoms from outer space, potentially reducing the need to bring resources all the way from Earth. The Perth Observatory team praised Isaak’s design as a clever and thoughtful response to a complex challenge, highlighting its potential to cut costs in space exploration.
A big thank you to Mrs Saraceni for her dedication in working with the Coding and STEM Club and providing our students with such incredible opportunities. Mrs Saraceni is already excited to bring Isaak’s design to life using our 3D printer!
QCE Awards
We have entered our Year 4 and TCEC group into the CEWA QCE Awards this year for the 'Small Tabs, Big Impact' project the boys have dedicated themselves to this year.
We’d need your vote! Don’t forget to share the link with your families, friends, and students because they can vote too for the People’s Choice Award. Every vote helps celebrate the dedication and hard work of our students!
