From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

On behalf of all the staff and Fr Leo we wish all the dads, grandfathers and special people in our lives who are like fathers to us, a very Happy Father’s Day on Sunday. We thank them for the love, guidance and support they show us.

                                                        

First Eucharist 

We congratulate our Year 3 /4 students on celebrating their First Eucharist  last Sunday. We were all so proud of them and the respectful and reverent way they participated in the Sacrament. Thankyou to Fr Leo for ensuring the Mass was such a faith filled and special occasion for the students. Thank you also to Miss Lesa, our R.E Leader for her organisation and leadership and to Miss Tess and Miss Prue for their attendance on the day and their preparation of the students.

 

Father’s and Special Person Celebration - Friday 5th September

On Friday, we will celebrate all fathers and people who are like Dads in our lives. We look forward to welcoming these very special people into our classrooms from 8:45am-9:30am and then the Dads/ Special People will enjoy some donuts & coffee in the hall.

Circus Performance

Our Artist in Residence Program continues with students making amazing progress in the skills they are learning. A reminder that student attendance at the actual performance on Thursday 18th September, is compulsory. All students will participate in a dress rehearsal at the Coburg Town Hall on Thursday 18th September and the permission form was sent home earlier this week. This must be returned by Monday 8th September

 

Tickets will be available from 10:00am tomorrow, Thursday 4th  September.

MACSSIS Surveys

As outlined in last week’s newsletter we are participating in the MACSSIS School Improvement  Survey. This process gathers feedback from various stakeholders. Parents were randomly selected to participate and you may have received a letter explaining the process. A link to the parent survey  was also included in this information pack and we encourage those selected to complete the survey.

All surveys must be completed by Friday 19th September.

 

National Child Protection Week

National Child Protection Week takes place from 7-13 September this year. All Australians are invited to play their part in promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. This year, the theme is, ‘Every conversation matters: Shifting Conversation to Action’ encouraging individuals and organizations to translate discussions about child safety into tangible steps to create safer environments for children and young people.

The National Association for Prevention of Child abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) website has some resources for parents that you may find informative.

Learning Conversations - 9th September

A reminder to book in for our Learning Conversations which are being held on Tuesday 9th September, 3:30pm - 6:00pm. These are compulsory and all students are expected to attend with at least one parent.

Hats - Sunsmart Policy

All students are required to wear a school hat at all times, when outside, from the beginning of September. This requirement is part of our Sunsmart policy.

 

Extra Curricular Clubs

We will again offer Chess Club and Dance Club in Term 4.

There will be a lunchtime concert by the dance class on Monday 15th September at 2.10pm in the hall if their parents would like to attend.

 

End of Term 3

The term ends on Friday 19th September, students finish at 1.00pm on this day.  

Term 4 commences on Monday 6th October.
