SRC Annual Report

2025 Student Representative Council has been an exciting and productive one, filled with meaningful events, positive changes, and strong student involvement.
In Term 1, we celebrated Harmony Week with a casual day to recognise and embrace the diversity within our school community. From this event, we raised $305.10, which is going towards future student activities. We also held an Easter Egg Raffle to mark the end of the term. As SRC President, I had the privilege of leading the ANZAC Day Assembly alongside my fellow SRC representatives.
In Term 2, we supported “Do It for Dolly Day,” which focuses on spreading kindness, raising funds, and taking a stand against bullying. With help from the Year 11 VCE Vocational Major (VM) students cooking and serving a barbeque, we raised $615 for this important cause.
Term 3, although the shortest of the year, was one of our busiest and most impactful. A major highlight was the approval of the long-requested uniform piercing policy change, allowing students to wear one small stud in their nose. This update received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students.
SRC members were also invited to attend the Hamilton Area Rural Australians for Refugees event in Dunkeld on June 26th, where guest speaker Muzafar shared his story as he cycles 4000 km across Australia to raise awareness and support for refugee education. Myself, Olivia Bell, Joy Galula attended with Mrs. Colquhoun, and the experience gave us a deeper appreciation for the value of education and the struggles faced by others around the world.
We continued the year with an RUOK? casual day, promoting connection and mental health awareness. Cupcakes were kindly provided by The Hamilton Rotary Club and Speckled Frog, and the event helped encourage important conversations around wellbeing from that day we raised $632.50. To finish Term 3, we celebrated Footy Colours Day with hot dogs at the canteen and a best-dressed footy-fanatic competition Congratulations to Scarlett Rhook from Year 8 for taking out the win with her fantastic outfit! The last casual day was a Halloween theme with spooky jelly sold, raising $311.20.
Thank you for all your suggestions throughout the year. There have been some interesting suggestions, my favorite by far had to be 28+ formal request for Baimbridge hoodies (which was discussed, and support was raised for a soft-shell jacket as a more appropriate alternative). Student feedback was regularly sought during SRC updates in year level assemblies which included exploring possible upgrades to the school’s playground.
I encourage you to enlist in the SRC for 2026 trust me it might take time out of your lunch time but see what you can do to better our school in 2026! It’s your choice to make change.
Overall, this year has been amazing, and I have been ever so grateful to be President of SRC this is Abbi McClure signing off for 2025, Thank you!
-Abbi McClure, SRC President
