From the  Principal

Bonjour tout le monde,

What a wonderful week it has been in our school community! With so many events taking place – from the fun and laughter of our Trivia Night, to the joy of sharing breakfast with dads and special friends on Tuesday for Father’s Day, and the creativity showcased at last night's Canvas & Quill Festival, our school has truly been buzzing with energy.

These occasions highlight the incredible community spirit that makes our school such a special place. The partnership between families and staff is something we deeply value, as it enriches the educational journey of every child. When families and schools come together, we create the best possible opportunities for our students to grow, learn and thrive.

Thank you to all who attended, supported and contributed to these events. Your presence and generosity make a real difference and we are so grateful for the ongoing commitment you show to our community.

Father's Day

This weekend we take time to celebrate Father’s Day and give thanks for the gift of fathers, grandfathers, and all the father figures who guide, protect and nurture children in our lives. We are reminded of the example of St. Joseph, who cared for Jesus with faith, humility and love. Like him, fathers are called to be people of presence, walking alongside their children with patience, wisdom, and compassion.

As a school community, we pray for all fathers, grandfathers and father figures. May they continue to find joy in their vocation, strength in challenges and encouragement in the love of their families. We also remember in a special way those for whom Father’s Day may bring sadness, holding them in our thoughts and prayers.

A Night in Italy - Trivia Night

The PA trivia night - A Night in Italy, was a huge success and we are so grateful for generosity of our families for the incredible amount raised, $17,800. Feedback from students, staff and the community will be gathered to determine how to spend the funds raised.

Thank you to the PA for their tireless commitment to the evening and all the work they did to being the night together. Thank you to the parents and members of our community that attended the evening, your support of these events and the school is much appreciated.

There are more details about the success of the night on the Trivia Night page in the newsletter.

Next Thursday is the annual St Bede's Footy Day! All students are encouraged to come to school dressed in their footy gear or team colors. Throughout the day, classes will engage in some fun football-related activities, and Mr. Walsh will treat us to football songs for everyone to sing along to.

It’s sure to be a fantastic day celebrating the excitement of the footy finals!

Class Structure 2026

As we are working on our class structure for 2026 may I ask you to please email me or your child's teacher if your child will NOT be returning in 2026 and state which school he/she will be attending.

Pilgrimage to Italy

On Sunday night I am very fortunate to be travelling to Italy with 18 other principals for a Faith Formation Pilgrimage. Our Pilgrimage 'Great Saints of Italy' will be facilitated by Harvest Journeys, will explore the sacred heart of Italy where the rich tapestry of faith, history and culture comes alive. As this is a Jubilee year, we have the special experience of seeing and passing through the Holy Doors the at the four major basilicas in Rome. I look forward to sharing my learnings and experience with you next term. If you would like to find out more about our pilgrimage here is a link to Harvest Journeys.

At the end of the pilgrimage, I will be travelling to Barcelona and Madrid for a few days before returning home. St Bede's will be in the very capable hands of Amanda Martin as Acting Principal in my absence. I will be back for the start of Term 4.

God Bless
