Year 7 Wellbeing Programs

Year 7 Wellbeing Programs

As part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing, our Year 7 students recently took part in two specialised programs aimed at building confidence, resilience, and self-awareness. These workshops provided our students with valuable tools to support their personal growth, both at school and beyond.

The girls worked with Brooke Tilyard from Bloom from Within. Throughout the day, they explored the topics of Identity, Mindset, Body Image, and Self-Management, learning how these areas shape the way they see themselves and interact with the world. A key focus was on the power of positive thinking—students practised journaling their thoughts and were shown practical strategies to reframe negative self-talk into more constructive, encouraging perspectives. This session gave the girls the opportunity to reflect on their individuality, celebrate their strengths, and develop healthy habits for their mental wellbeing.

At the same time, the boys participated in the ManMade Frame It Program, led by Pat Noonan. This engaging and interactive program encouraged them to reflect on emotional awareness, the role of self-management, and the strong influence of social media. The boys also discussed what it means to be a positive role model and how to seek out and embody those qualities in their everyday lives. The program was hands-on and practical, equipping them with strategies to build resilience, manage their emotions, and make positive choices.

We are extremely fortunate to have presenters with such passion and expertise travel to Narrandera to work with our students. Both programs were well received by Year 7, sparking valuable discussions and leaving students with strategies they can carry forward into their schooling and personal lives.

These experiences are an important part of our wellbeing focus at Narrandera High School, and we are proud to provide our students with opportunities to develop the skills and mindsets that will help them thrive.
