Careers

Hello Parents/Guardians and Community Members,
This is our final newsletter for what turned out to be a busy term in the careers office. Our Year 12 have finished their last term of their entire school journey and hopefully are able to have a break and begin to prepare for their final HSC examinations next term.
I wish to congratulate all our Year 12 students on the completion of their school journey and remind them all that they can still come into the careers office next term and in the future to seek support and guidance on what next in their post school planning. This includes helping with resumes and preparing their job portfolios and general post school advice.
Congratulations to those Year 12 students who have received Early Entry offers to their chosen universities. You can refer to the full list of Early Entry offers in the Student Achievement section of this newsletter. Students are reminded to come see me to seek any advice and assistance with any questions they may have in relation to the offers they have received.
CONGRATULATIONS YEAR 12! We are proud of you all.

Congratulations on your Retirement Josie!
Today was Josie Marks last day at Narrandera TAFE as she retires after an extraordinary 33 year career with TAFE NSW and Narrandera TAFE campus as a Teacher, School Engagement Officer, TAFE Services Coordinator and Connected Learning Centre Support Officer!
Narrandera High School wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to Josie for all her support to our many students over the years and providing your knowledge and guidance on the many tertiary pathways and courses available post school. Congratulations Year 12 Graduates of 2025 - Uni Early Entry Offers!
Key Reminders for Year 12 Students Receiving Offers:
Accepting Offers:
- Accept offers promptly to secure your spot but remember this doesn’t lock you in—you’re just holding a place while you consider your options.
You can only have one active offer with each university/institute at a time.
Reading Offers:
- Carefully review each offer letter/email. Check for any deadlines, conditions, or scholarship information attached.
If unsure, ask for help—either from your careers adviser or directly from the university.
Scholarships:
- Many offers include details about scholarships—read these sections carefully.
- Gather all supporting documents (certificates, references, etc.) early to be ready for applications.
Save drafts of your scholarship responses and seek feedback.
UAC Preferences and Timing:
- Next UAC offer round is on 13th November – Schools Recommendation Scheme
- Update your UAC preferences before 12pm on 18 December, after HSC results/ATARs are released.
- Then UAC offers in normal rounds start on 23 December—keep your dream course at the top of your preferences.
Once you have received an offer, you can remove it from UAC preferences list and add in other courses if you wish to go for the next round of offers.
Decision-Making:
- Don’t rush! Take time after your HSC exams to consider all aspects: course content, university support, accommodation, campus location, and scholarship opportunities.
There are always pathways—alternate entry, bridging courses, or internal transfers—if you don’t get your preferred offer.
Support:
- Reach out for advice at any stage.
Store all important documents and scholarship answers securely (e.g., Google Docs, shared with advisers).
Extra Tips:
- Bookmark key university and UAC pages for quick access to information.
- Consider attending university info sessions or campus tours if possible.
Think about travel, costs (such as accommodation), and lifestyle factors when choosing your course/university.
If you need tailored advice for any student, information about universities or courses, or help navigating UAC/VTAC and scholarships, please let me know! I'm here to assist you and your students through this exciting transition.
Congratulations Year 12!
