Message From Our Principal
Mrs Jackie Stockdale
It’s hard to believe we’re already down to the final two weeks of Term 2! As the cold weather sets in, we’re reminded of how important it is to stay warm, well, and connected. Our staff have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes, not only continuing to provide high-quality learning experiences in the classroom but also finalising student reports. These reports are a reflection of each child’s progress and growth so far this year, and we look forward to sharing them with families soon. Thank you for your ongoing support as we wrap up another busy and productive term.
As part of our commitment to the Magnify Sandhurst, staff participated in a full-day professional learning workshop with Knowledge Society, focusing on the Classroom Mastery framework. This valuable session supported teachers to deepen their understanding of evidence-based, high-impact practices that align with our diocesan priorities. Through exploring instructional routines, and effective behaviour expectations, staff were equipped with practical strategies to strengthen behaviour expectations and routines across the school.
We were so proud of our students at our recent Whole School Athletics Day. The students behaviour throughout the day was outstanding – respectful, enthusiastic, and supportive of one another. It was fantastic to see every student involved, giving their best effort and cheering on their peers. Days like this highlight the strength of our school community and the positive culture we continue to build together.
We extend our deepest appreciation to everyone who made our Whole School Athletics Day a resounding success!
Kyabram Little Athletics– Your generous support and provision of equipment were instrumental in creating a professional and enjoyable environment for our students. Especially your members who supported our entire day. Your commitment to fostering athletics in our community is truly commendable.
St Augustine's College Kyabram Partnership Students– Your enthusiastic assistance throughout the day, from event coordination to cheering on participants, exemplified leadership and community spirit. Your involvement made a significant difference.
Parents and Families – Your unwavering support, whether through volunteering, cheering from the sidelines, or helping with logistics, contributed immensely to the day's success. Your presence and encouragement mean the world to our students.
Kyabram P-12 College– Thank you for generously allowing us to use your oval and facilities. Your support provided an excellent venue and essential amenities, contributing significantly to the smooth running of the event.
Together, we've demonstrated the power of community collaboration in creating memorable experiences for our students. Thank you for your dedication and support!
We are proud to congratulate our students and staff who have recently become FIRE Carriers (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education). This is a significant role within our school community, as FIRE Carriers commit to promoting understanding, respect, and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Their leadership helps ensure that the stories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations Peoples are honoured and embedded in our daily school life. We thank them for taking on this important responsibility and for helping to lead our school on the journey towards justice and reconciliation.
Our school was honoured last week to receive a very generous donation of $1200 from the Kyabram Club. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from this wonderful local organisation, which continues to show its commitment to our school and wider community. Donations like this make a real difference—they help us enhance learning opportunities, upgrade resources, and support projects that directly benefit our students. We thank the Kyabram Club for their generosity and ongoing partnership, and we look forward to continuing this strong community connection into the future.
A big congratulations to our seven students who represented our school in the Lions Club Public Speaking Competition – they were absolutely amazing! Each student spoke with confidence, clarity, and passion, demonstrating not only their strong communication skills but also the effort and preparation they had put into their speeches. We are so proud of the way they represented our school. A special congratulations goes to Phoebe Grant and Lily Mulchay, who were announced as the winners at this level of the competition – an outstanding achievement! We thank the Lions Club for providing such a valuable opportunity for young people to grow as public speakers and leaders.
