ITALIAN

Mrs Gee's gnocchi recipe - mangia, mangia (eat, eat):

During all Italian lessons for the next two weeks, students will be focusing on greetings.  The Grade 3-6 students will be learNing how to have a conversation with a partner.

SPORT

As the cold weather settles in, so too does netball!

This fortnight we are focusing on our throwing and passing, while trying to remember not to step or cause contact... which can be very challenging for some of our seasoned footy players!

During the rain event last week, some classes had to improvise with improving their ball skills using a balloon in the Cill Dara.

Unfortunately, this program has fallen after the senior students tackled the netball tournament in Echuca a couple of weeks ago.  However, it's great to see their freshly honed skills and we've been able to extend on what they learned during the tournament.

All the students have embraced the netball change whole-heartedly, and it's been fun to get out in the cold air and warm our bodies by keeping active.

Note: Photos are limited as the teacher couldn't help but get distracted/competitive during much of the court play.

ART

Our amazing mixed media collages are almost complete and what a wonderful creative process it has been. Lots of trial and error, taking risks, critical and creative thinking involved in creating our art works. We can't wait to display them!

PERFORMING ARTS

This term has been exciting, with students exploring the elements of dance and drama! We’ve been using our bodies to communicate character and emotion – making statues and shapes of objects, figuring out what different emotions feel and look like with body language and expression, and choreographing dances. Students in 5/6 have been working on drama skills to prepare for our whole school production next term – more information will come over the next few weeks! Our choir is sounding fabulous, learning a variety of silly songs, Christian songs, rounds and other fun songs to sing.
