Principal's Report

Year 6 - 7 Transition Day

We welcomed 32 very keen students from Year 6 from our school and from our local surrounding schools last week.  Students were provided with a taste of high school life, working through their own timetable and visiting classes across the school. Students attended a science lesson, food technology and ITC classes as well as sports and wellbeing programs.  If you are aware of any students who are interested in applying to enrol at Uralla Central School for Year 7 in 2026, please ask them to contact us at the school.

Kindergarten Transition Program

Just a reminder that our Kindergarten Transition Program will commence early next term for those students who are interested in enrolling in 2026. Please contact us at the school if you have any questions about our transition programs.

Sports Success

Our students continue to excel in local and inter-school sports.  Congratulations to Archie Sharpe who came first place at the PSSA Zone Cross Country event last week.

We also congratulate Jett Williams on being selected to go to North West Touch Side.

In our secondary department we have competed at the Opens Girls CHS Netball, CHS Opens Boys and Girls Volleyball, with all teams recording wins at their gala days against bigger schools.

Our Central Schools Touch teams have competed in their pool days with the Open Girls qualifying for state finals this year, our U16 boys narrowly missing out, losing in a drop off (touch version of golden point) and all teams playing very competitively.

We also have two players, Brydie Williams and Ben Cohen away representing North West at the State Opens Touch Football in Sydney. Here is a photo of the opening ceremony:

Congratulations Everyone!

Compressed Curriculum Discussion

As many of you may be aware, we deliver our Year 11 and 12 subjects/course as part of a compressed curriculum structure.  The school has embraced this approach for many years.  When we were discussing our school structures last year, we made a commitment to hold discussions with students, staff and parents to gauge their views on our compressed curriculum. At the next P&C meeting, the committee has kindly offered me some time to seek feedback from parents.  This meeting will be held on Monday 16 June at 6pm in the school library.  I encourage anyone who may wish to provide some feedback, to come along and join the discussion.

Semester 1 Reports

All students from Kindergarten to Year 10 will be provided with their Semester 1 reports towards the end of this term.  As we have already held our parent/teacher interviews, we will not be scheduling a dedicated time for these to occur.  As always though, if you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's report, please contact us at the school.

Armidale Eisteddfod

There are a number of our students who are involved in events at the Armidale Eisteddfod at the moment.  We have individual and small group ensemble entries from across most year groups in our school. I would like to thank our students for having the confidence to perform at such events and I also thank our music teacher, Miss Matsui for helping our students prepare for these experiences.  Well done to everyone involved.

Have a great week!
