Dear Parents,

We have had a busy week in and out of the classrooms. Our Stage 1, 2 and 3 Dance Troupes are in full swing, and their performance costumes have arrived. Our Choir group are busy preparing for the Choral Festival in August at the Opera House. Our wonderful SRC have been busy creating beautiful cards for nursing home residents in Bathurst.

Our CWA Public Speaking finalists attended the zone finals last week. They have all performed outstandingly well, with Ashwin being Highly Commended in the Year 4 section. Congratulations to Ellie Stone (Year 6), Adeline Hunter (Year 5), Ashwin Buttsworth (Year 4) and Lori Hegvold (Year 3) on their outstanding speaking skills demonstrated at a school and zone level.

Our School Soccer Team played against Raglan Public School in round 1 of the PSSA Knockout competition during the Soccer Gala Day last Friday. Unfortunately, we lost the game 6-0. Mrs McPhee and Miss Barber were extremely proud of the sportsmanship from all of our players and the ‘never give up’ attitude they displayed till the final whistle. What wonderful Bathurst Public School representatives. Well done to our Soccer Team.

We had 58 children attend the Bathurst Council Reconciliation Walk/Run last Friday. Our children thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this important event with their friends and families. Thank you Mrs George for organising our school’s participation in this important community event. Thank you Mrs Cafe, Mrs Guihot, Ms Lloyd, Miss Reedy, Mrs Culham and Mr Jablonskis for supporting the children throughout the walk and BBQ.
