Wellbeing

At Camelot Rise Primary School, wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. One way we nurture this is through using GEM Chat Cards from The Resilience Project, which help our students engage meaningfully with the key pillars of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM).

These colourful, conversation-starting cards are used regularly in our classrooms to spark

thoughtful discussions, strengthen student relationships, and support emotional literacy. Whether it's a morning circle, a reflection time after lunch, or part of a wellbeing session, students draw a card and respond to prompts like:

  • “Name something that made you smile today.”
  • “Describe a time when you helped someone recently.”
  • “What are three things you’re grateful for?”

These simple yet powerful questions encourage students to pause and reflect on their emotions and experiences, and to listen with empathy to their peers. Over time, this regular practice has helped students build stronger connections, deepen their understanding of self and others, and develop positive habits that support their mental health.

GEM Chat Cards have become a valued tool in daily routines, helping students feel seen, heard, and supported. It’s another way Camelot Rise continues to grow a culture of kindness, resilience, and community in every classroom.
