Careers Update

Emily Duffy
Pathways Co-ordinator
The Year 10 students have started the year with an assembly focused on work experience. Students can complete work experience at any time throughout the year, with most opting for a five-day placement. They are strongly encouraged to seek opportunities in industries they are passionate about. For assistance in finding a suitable placement, students can reach out to our Work Experience Coordinator, Sarah-Kate Hanley, at hnl@elwood.vic.edu.au.
To further support the program, we are looking for parents who are willing to host a student for work experience at their workplace. Parents/employers can be supported through the Work Experience process by the Inner Eastern LLEN (IELLEN). The IELLEN are funded by the Department of Education to assist employers to host students on work placement by providing information and support, to remove some anxiety you may have around being a Work Experience host. If you are interested in hosting work experience students and would like support in this, please contact Dennis Cindric at dcindric@iellen.org.au and Sarah-Kate Hanley at hnl@elwood.vic.edu.au
