Prep, Year 1 & 2 and Nature Play
Students have loved investigating the forces involved with lots of different types of toys. They have made bridges, towers, houses and explored what happens when you use different materials to test bouncing balls, move cars and as drums. It's been noisy and chaotic, but so much learning has happened through building, playing and investigating. Students are so busy having fun, they forget they are learning skills like critical thinking, planning, sharing and resilience.
Year 1 & 2
Our Year 1 and 2 students have been busy learning all about the weather this term!
They’ve explored different types of clouds, discovered how we can measure weather using tools like weathervanes and rain gauges, and even had fun making their own kites. It has been wonderful to see how engaged and curious the students have been throughout the unit, asking thoughtful questions and enjoying hands-on activities that bring their learning to life.
Year 2 Students Embrace the Outdoors in Nature Play
This term in Nature Play, our Year 2 students have been busy exploring, discovering and creating in the great outdoors.
From splashing in puddles and investigating the natural wonders around our school, to harvesting fresh carrots and picking olives straight from our trees..
Students have enjoyed spending time in the garden, learning how to care for plants and use what we grow - especially when it comes to cooking! One of the highlights was baking and sharing a delicious carrot cake using carrots they had harvested themselves. Our olives are now nearly ready to be placed in brine and should be perfect for tasting at the start of next term.
It has been wonderful to see the students so engaged with nature, building an appreciation for the environment and learning how to care for the world around them. Nature Play continues to be a valuable part of their learning, encouraging curiosity, sustainability and respect for our planet.
