Somers 9 Day Camp

On the 20th of May, nine selected students from Lyndhurst Primary School, accompanied by volunteer teacher Katelyn Howell, attended a nine-day network camp at Somers. This enriching experience gave students the chance to develop their personal and social capabilities, along with sustainable practices, through a variety of engaging activities.
From the adrenaline-pumping challenge swing and high ropes course to hands-on environmental studies at the beach and the picturesque Coolart Wetlands, every day offered new opportunities for growth and adventure. Students were also given plenty of free time and could choose from a range of optional activities such as visiting the library, playing mini golf, shopping at the canteen, and much more. They were also excited for Visitors Day, when their families could come to see the camp, hear about all the amazing adventures the students had experienced, and share in the highlights of their nine-day journey.
The camp brought together students from schools across the Casey area, including Koorang Primary School, fostering a strong sense of community. Our Lyndhurst boys had an incredible time and returned with lifelong memories, new friendships, and a renewed sense of confidence and independence.
Well done to the Year Five students who represented Lyndhurst Primary School with pride at Somers Camp: Aiden Head, Michael Galemin, Abel Hunt, Noah Joksimovic, Mario Ma, Chase McLaren, Angaj Sihana, Tripat Singh, and Hasani Tauti.
