Foundation

Over the last two weeks we have been undertaking assessment with the students, and it has been wonderful to see the advancement since the beginning of the year. The Foundation students should be extremely impressed with themselves and their progress. 

READERS

Students have now started to bring home two readers each day. They should have one familiar reader which they have already read and one new reader each night. 

PUPILS OF THE WEEK

The following students will be on stage on Friday 6th of June at Assembly. Assembly commences at 2:45pm in the Liborius Centre. All welcome!

SCHOOL NURSE FORMS 

Thank you for returning your form for the school nurse. The school nurse will begin her visits on Tuesday the 27th of May and will be in contact with families after she visits.   

WEEKLY AWARDS 

This week, we commenced weekly awards. Each Monday afternoon, one student from each class will receive an award. This term, awards are given to students displaying the qualities of Mary McKillop including a love for learning, trying their best and persisting with challenges. Award winners will be acknowledged at the next assembly on the slide show. Congratulations to the award winners for weeks 5 and 6:

FOUNDATION LEARNING FOCUS 

Literacy  

- Sounds ‘c’ ‘d’ ‘h’ 

 - Writing and blending the sounds the students have learnt to make CVC(Consonant/Vowel/Consonant) words. 

- Beginning to write basic sentences using capital letters and full stops.
