SWPBS Update – Term 3 Reflection
This term, our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework has continued to strengthen our school’s positive culture. We’ve focused on promoting key expectations that help ensure a safe, responsible, and respectful environment for all.
Some expectations we covered this term were:
- Lockdown Drill: Students practiced safety protocols during our lockdown drill, demonstrating calm and responsible behaviour throughout the process.
- Wearing Hats: With the warmer weather approaching, the expectation to wear hats during outdoor play has been a focus. Students have shown great responsibility by remembering to follow this expectation.
- The Gaga Pit: The Gaga Pit has been a popular area, and we’ve focused on reinforcing fair play, ensuring that all students understand and respect the rules of the game.
- Owning Actions and Apologising When Needed: This term, we’ve placed special emphasis on students taking responsibility for their actions and offering sincere apologies when necessary, fostering a culture of respect and accountability.
- Staying on Task: In the classroom, students have been encouraged to stay on task and maintain focus during lessons, helping to improve learning outcomes.
- Solving Problems: We’ve worked with students on problem-solving strategies, teaching them to manage smaller issues independently or seek help when needed.
The consistent reinforcement of these expectations has had a noticeable impact on behaviour and engagement, helping us create a positive, supportive learning environment.
We’re looking forward to building on these successes as we head into Term 4!
