Scoresby Secondary College Production 2024
August marked an exciting milestone for Scoresby Secondary College with the long-awaited return of the school production after a hiatus of several years.
This year’s show, Scoresby Secondary College Presents…, took the form of a vibrant variety show, showcasing a range of talents and performances.
The evening’s lineup featured a delightful mix of ensemble singing, dance groups, several VET Music rock bands, comedy sketches, and a stunning flute solo.
We were also thrilled to welcome two guitar ensembles from Wantirna South Primary School, who added an extra dimension to the show. The Student Centre was transformed for the night, with elegant cabaret-style seating. Tables adorned in alternating black and white, candles, and floating flowers created an inviting atmosphere.
Three separate, professionally lit stages brought the performances to life, adding a polished touch to the entire space.
The dedicated cast began rehearsing in Term 2 and worked tirelessly to perfect their performances.
Weekly lunchtime practices, additional sessions several times a week, and after-school rehearsals in the final lead-up to the big night ensured a seamless show.
A huge thank you goes out to the many staff and students who contributed both behind the scenes and front of house. Your efforts were invaluable in bringing this production to life.
The students delivered a truly memorable night of entertainment on the 30th, with some experiencing the thrill of performing for the first time. Below, two students share their thoughts on this incredible experience:
"My experience of production was a lot of fun!! I met a lot of new people; I got to socialize and talk to some people that I have never talked to before and we got to practice all together and sometimes we got a little silly and on the night of the production I was so nervous I was so worried that what if I mess things up. But in the end, I ended up having so much fun performing with my friends. It was one of the best nights for me". Fhaye Mazo, Yr 7
“I really enjoyed the production. Because it was the school’s first production in 4 years, it was a big task to be in it. We rehearsed from Term 2 leading up to the big night. We all had a lot of fun and enjoyed the after-school rehearsals and seeing everyone in costume.” Will Duncan, Yr 8
Congratulations to all of the students involved and my thanks to them for their hard work – a successful return to performance for Scoresby Secondary College!
